They still know the exact kilometer count on the engine when it made that noise in the mountains above Tbilisi, or the night outside Almaty when the tent stakes wouldn't hold and the steppe wind tried to take everything. What they own does not define them. Where they have been does not entirely define them either. But the specific weight of forward motion - the particular mathematics of distance over time - that is the only equation that has ever felt true. No fixed address. That is not a problem.
